This temple is a unique cave temple and is also an ancient site of archeological exploration. This temple is located in the area where Galigamuwa and Dedigama electorates meet. It is said that this sacred place was built by King Walagamba on a beautiful rock surrounded by forts which are about 600 feet high. his temple has a unique inscription which is about 13 feet high from the ground which is consisting 30 letters of Brahma. The inscription here shows that beginning of usage of coins in Sri Lanka dates back to the second and third centuries B.C. The temple is built on a rock on an area of seventeen acres and is about one hundred feet long with carvings and drips. There is also a stone house next to it. The stone structure of the dwelling house at the entrance to the stone house is a distinctive feature. There are sleeping statues, standing statues, idols and a dragon pandal.
